Definition

Infant formula, when in liquid form, may be used either directly or diluted with water before feeding, as appropriate. In powdered form it requires water for preparation. The product shall be nutritionally adequate to promote normal growth and development when used in accordance with its directions for use. The product is so processed by physical means only and so packaged as to prevent spoilage and contamination under all normal conditions of handling, storage and distribution in the country where the product is sold).
