Definition

The branch of the government that undertakes law interpretation.

The judiciary might be called upon to help interpret the Act created by the legislature or the rules and regulations created by the regulator.

Example: the Supreme Court of Canada, the High Court of Maharashtra.

Other terms with the same meaning and function: Judicial branch, court (could be district, state, municipal, high court, supreme court).
